Varying the Energy Mix in the EU-28 and in Poland as a Step towards Sustainable Development

The demand for clean energy is a key global issue requiring ideas to be implemented through local action. This particularly important in Poland’s transition, since the country produces mainly from conventional sources, i.e., coal, gas, and crude oil. Adverse climate change caused by high emissions of economy based on combustion hydrocarbons as well growing public awareness have made it necessary look new environmentally friendly sources. aim paper demonstrate that use alternative biomass particular, compatible with sustainable development policy. Eight indicators EU-28 Poland were analysed order verify progress modifying mix between 2010 2018 context implementing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). analysis showed both Poland, aggregated indicator taking into account positive negative values individual improved 2018. In EU-28, this higher (180.1) than (152.3). lower value due fact main source remains hard coal lignite.
